hi, i have a TH manual, and it feels like the engine mounts are shot, when driving the car.
but when i look at them i cant see any cracks in it, or leakage, is it possible for a mount to be shot, even there is no abvious signs?

Yep. Mine are screwed but no obvious damage.

what does the car do to make you think the engine mount/s are buggered?

For me - excessive movement on mounts when revving at idle, jolting when backing off/applying power unless you're extra smooth, etc

yeah what he said
Open the bonnet and rev the engine while watching it - it shouldn't move around, if it does, try to see which mount it's moving on. It's almost always the big drivers side one on the top. Sometimes they can look OK from the outside. The best way to find out for sure is to remove them, which is not too hard if you're handy with a spanner.
It should be pretty obvious that a mount is shot by looking at it. Fold downthe rubber flange and you should be able to see where the rubber innards have separated.

It will most likely be your roll stop mounts, these are the front and rear mounts.
Check these ones as the 2 end mounts will not stop the engine movement, these hold the engine in the bay where as the front and rear stop the engine from rolling as such

Thanks, ill check the front and rears, the rear is a little harder to change isnt it.
are polyurathane mounts a good option? the slight increase in vibration is no biggy.
