I have this person who has two hi-contrast meters for sale. One is from a KW and the other is from an earlier model, which he isn't able to tell from what. The meter I will be buying will be going into my TJ2 AWD.

Meter 1

Meter 2

I am guessing meter one is from the KW, and meter two is from the KH/KJ1.

Any help in identifying the meters would be helpful.

Thankyou
-Alan

Yeah the second one I've seen in the g/f's KH. Just gotta find out if it'll fit in my car now. The wiring diagrams are in my workshop manual for them :S

Hi mate.

For a kickoff, grab the first one pictured. It has the trip computer in the instruments (the KH/KJ1 have it in the centre display) and the KH/KJ1 cluster will not have the position for the 5th gear you require being your car is AWD 5 speed auto.

im not sure if the high contrast dash is plug and play with the TJ2, but the first one pictured will be a hell of alot easier to integrate than the KH/KJ unit.

I've buggered around with the one on my TJII AWD - ended up getting a sports AWD one from Melbourne (Thanks Alan - TJ Sports, for helping me out there, few years ago now). The AWD one has a different trip computer. Make sure the KW one came out of a GTVI or AWD

Ok,
The first one is a TJII onwards, will go straight into a TL or W

The second is a TH one or TJI, only way to tell, if has tippy auto selection is TJ, if non tippy is TH

Not sure if will go into a TJII without changing the dash top harness but either way with a SII you can do it dash in anyway. Have not tried a SII but is just a matter of plugging in and see if all works

I would love to try and fit the the TJ11 to see how it goes with a TL/TW. Where do I have to go.

The only advice I could offer you is that the KJ one would be brighter and easier to read then the KL one in terms of how they will compare.

The KJ1 is out of the question for me. I'll be pulling the dash out if/when I get my charger. That's when I'll plug in the new meter and see if it works, as I'll bee trying out my plug-in loom for climate-control. So I'll let you guys know then. Will SRS have a spaz if I don't have the air-bags plugged in? Will it have to be reset after wards.
