Hey guys, i have found what i consider the best workshop manual so far. it is MAX ELLERY'S Magna/Verada 1991-2005 Manual, covering all models from the TR/TS to TL/TW. The thing that sets it apart for me is that on the subject of Automatic transmissions, where haynes tell you to consult a pro, These manuals have full teardown, Problem diagnosis and Re-build set out including all values for electrical components and all measurements etc . It covers literally every aspect of the trans for all models and also has detailed diagrams of the trans interior. Its worth a look especially if you are keen on trying to repair a faulty auto yourself.

Interesting to note Rob, never gave the Max Ellerys ones much of a look myself. What about the online PDF's you can download?

It is a great manual covers all 4 and 6 cylinder models. Hey on your lifter noise prob, it has a method to bleed them if they are noisy. 1; check oil is full and in good condition. 2; run engine at idle for 2 to 3 mins. 3; with engine at idle, increase engine speed to approx 3000rpm over a 15sec interval, then release accelerator and allow revs to drop to idle, wait 15 secs then repeat process approximately 30 times. once noise is eliminated repeat 5 more times. noise should be eliminated after 10 to 30 times. 4; run engine at idle to ensure noise is gone, if not check lifters for wear. try it , im going to as a matter of course. but yeah the manual is awesome, has far more info than the haynes. and is very detailed.
