Hey guys
Today I was driving my car and I did a U turn pretty quickly in a u turn part of the highway and as i went round i heard and felt scraping. I thought it was plastic in the wheel arch as its a bit loose but on further inspection the bottom lip of the tj vrx body kit was scraped :headbange . I would have thought that with standard springs and shocks they would engineer it so this could not happen.
Has anybody had this happen to them and what can I do about it?
Thanks
Michael

Turn more slowly (I'm being deadly serious here). If the speed at which you're driving\manuevering is causing damage to your car then slow down. Not only does it work, its free.
That and having a bodykit on a car means that avoiding scraping and learning which driveways\parking bays\speedbumps etc scrape and do not become part of everyday driving.

oh yea by the way, just saw your post in another thread saying the springs on your car are yellow, this means they're aftermarket King springs so there's a high probability it's lower than stock...

Ive learnt how to park and go up driveways without scraping. Its the amount of suspension travel i don't relly like. And this is with standard 16" rims and tyres.
Maybe my bumpstops are worn out or made for cars without bodykits. As my toyota soarer with air suspension and bottom lip never scraped with a maneuver. And I could make that car so low that it would ride on the bumpstops.

If the suspension travel is that severe I'd be looking at the shocks and getting them replaced.

yeh thats what I thought, they dont seem to soak up the bumps and handle that well compared to my mates executive tj with standard suspension but less kms on the clock. Might go get a pedders $25 check.
