I've never done it, and I probably never will... My car is an auto (s%*t for dyno) and a wagon (s%*t for drags).
Let us know how you go...
Shall do, i rekon i'd get dead last, i might be able to take on a 2.6L 2nd gen auto or something :P Sharky is sposed to be bringing his ride, or atleast i hope he sticks to that plan (hey sharky i doubt you need your license to run your car on the dyno or on the track!) anyway i'd love to have 1st gen competition so you brisbane 1st gen owners you better come to this thing so i got someone to battle or else i might just have to slay allan or kevin.

Mate, i'd love to battle you, but I don't feel like driving to Redcliffe that day. I live in the Beenleigh area, so maybe one day we can find a nice quiet piece of road..........

F&@k yeah! That's 1 second away from my mates skyline... it's turboed yet he's only managed to pull off 14 and 15's... but that's because he's a s$*t dragger.

yeha... well im not too sure bout making high 16's but i reckon 17's at least. all on a $600 budget. lucky i have a few mates that can do stuff like this and get paid off over time. nice big carb, mild cam, skimmed head, slight porting too. flow manifold, port matching etc... extractors. hi-flow muffler. all in time. i havent accounted for the muffler in my budget but it will b adding kw for sure. we are aiming for 100kw at the engine. 17kw gain over the stock. with those mods, hopefully it'll workout!
was even talk of water injection setup haha! dunno if it'd work but if it cools the engine down and adds kw we'll c how it goes
i reckon i could do a flat to high 16 in my lil 2.6 :D its got the holley carb, extractors, 2.5" exhaust, & advanced timing.. still cant beat my friends v6 common***** tho  i think ive got a ton of backpressure loss from the 2.5" exhaust... so im looking into getting it turbod atm
i think i got about 71fwks last time it was on the dyno... altho it wasnt running too well

You only have one friend, but he is a pretty top bloke i hear and his charade pulls the *****es :P
Firstly, you cant talk about yourself, the charade would only pull *****es cause they'd think its cute and probably tag you as gay.. im only kiddin.. about the gay part... maybe..
Secondly, HOW CAN YOU FEEL LIKE YOU DON'T WANNA DRIVE THERE ON THAT DAY, ITS MONTHS AWAY#!!#@#$.. its not at redcliff anyway, we need to find an AWD dyno for tbutchers black AWD so it will probably end up being on the souside. Bring your car, i dont give a crap where the dyno and strips are at just bring it! im gonna have to prac up with some dragging, i dont really do anything but drive fast.. maybe i should go lap somewhere sometime and get constantly slaughtered by the dumb V8's around here.

nice... thats something for me to work 2wards now. well ill b staying NA so if i do get an exhaust i think ill just get 2". if u can run flat to high 16's, i should b right up there with u with the mods im doing.
Have you made a list of what your doing and where your getting it done and how much its going to cost etcc. so other 1st gen owners can see info about it if they're keen to do the same things?
... flat to high 16's ...
woops, i mean flat 17 to high 16's  tho its still good :) ... cos i think thats slightly modded lancer 1.8 territory
next stage for me is probly a bodykit & new paint, or a simple turbo setup... leaning towards the bodykit, but thats if i ever get around to doin it & get enough money.. then its turbo charging time which i'll probly only be able to afford by about next year
Owww do give me a very very detailed report on who you got the stuff off at what price and waht you did

yeah a mates stock 94 lancer GLXi (1.8) ran a 17.2.
ill give everyone a detailed description of wat i did and how much everything was... and ill get pictures up on my site aswell for all 1st gen owners to look at. it'll b at least 2-3 weeks before that. im gunna take it to the drags one night after its all done and get a time... ill let yas all know that aswell. should b interesting to c wat times it gets.
think i'll need a new clutch soon too. anyone got any prices for them? wat brand, where from etc. would love to c if i can fit the new clutch into the budget aswell.
new clutch and a heap of stuff into a 600$ budget? your dreamin man, if you can im comin to get your mates to do what they did to my car too as well as a new clutch cause ill probably root mine over sometime soon.

I got my clutch replaced at about 120000 after giving my sister a driving lesson
They replaced pretty much everything including spigot/throwout bearing for under $400 as I recall. Clutch kit is $250 or so and the rest for labour. Ill check the prices tonight.

well i wont b fitting exhaust or clutch in the $600. that price is pretty much includes, carb (from another car from wreckers, probably rebuild it), regrind cam, VRS gasket kit, and we can port match everything. oh yeah, need to get head shaved too. this will be done with the cam regrind at the same place. i have been given the opportunity to get some extractors for $30 from sydney :D. so it's not all NEW stuff. that would cost 1k plus, which is better off used to get EFI instead.

gee $400 thats not bad installed. its dear for labour cos there FWD and a bugger to get out. ive had a few quotes for a new cluch around $500, meh ill just let it die b4 i get it done
Yeh same, then ill just put some hardcore never-die clutch in that'll cost me just as much as labour haha.

i was looking at clutchs from DAIKIN, a well respected brand of clutches. they don't even make a heavy duty clutch for the magna? so, from DAIKIN at least u can only go with the normal clutch or go and get a custom one made, not one of those hardcore never die clutchs
Yeh well i never said a GOOD brand hardcore clutch, make it outa tool steel i dont care :P, nah i'd probably just get something from a midrange brand thats gonna last longer and be better then the current clutch or something.. yeah.. thats about it.
For my Vr4 conversion i got a XTREME ceramic Racing clutch and a pressure plate with 50% more clamping force then a stock Vr4 one for $550. And it will easily hold 200kw@wheels. Great looking clutch too bad you cant see it. lol

How does that classy clutch feel tho? Was it worth the dosh? Or is it going to last forever?
Havent had a chance to use it yet seeing as the car isnt finished. But it has a sprung centre so it shouldnt be to bad for normal driving, u can ride it slightly and it wont burn up in a minute like most other clutches do. Should last a fair amount of time but not sure exactly
