turns out i have a fault on my abs, the manual says probable causes are
Malfunction of ABS valve relay
Malfunction of wiring harness or connector
Malfunction of ABS-ECU
Malfunction of hydraulic unit

does anyone know the most common problem? so at least i have a place to start
any help appreciated

Clean all the contacts wires with some metho/isopropyl/contact cleaner/nail polish remover.

Fixes most of my problems.

Which contacts exactly??? I have an ABS light since I converted to LPG too, but im guessing it most likely they stuffed up some wiring somewhere.

well, ive had a look at the ABS ECU. and i doubt its the connections, as this problem had only just showed up, a few weeks after doing my engine/manual conversion, and i didnt touch anything in that area. i am stumped and thinking i should swallow my pride and take it to a mechanic/auto elec for the first time ever. has anyone else had a code 51 before?

It says wiring connection as one of the possibilities so i would check all the wheel sensors and wiring to them.

Have you swapped out the sensors with new ones just in case one is faulty?

originally i had to fault codes being thrown up, left rear wheel sensor and code 51
i checked the resistance of the left wheel sensor and sure enough it was outside of the limit.
replaced it with a working sensor, and now just need to get this code 51 fixed

Check the connections where the ABS loom joins the inside loom behind the fan box (passenger foot well)

I forgot to connect one of the connectors recently and was getting the same valve relay error.

I would say that you may have an issue with your ABS unit, the fact that you have converted to Maual would have little to no relevance.

If you get the codes cleared and they come back i would say is 99% the issue, I doubt you would have changed or unplugged the harness when you did your manual conversion. Also check your earth on the ABS harness

cheers guys, yeah i didnt touch anything in that area. it may just be a coinsidence that it was thrown up, also the light came on and off for a while. now it just stays on all the time.
looks like off to the auto electrician, they should have mut II's?
