OK, so this car when i purchased it had an enormous amount of camber on the rear wheels, this was due to Superlow Lovells +1 Inch compression and 20" Wheels thrown on for good measure.

As i require the car to carry kids etc... I replaced the springs and shockers with brand new GT Monroe Sports (sames as was on the car) and Low King Springs. I got a 20mm increase in rear end clearance and some reduction to the camber, however not all.

Rear DS now sitting at -.5 camber (Pretty good) But the Rear NS is -3.0 degrees, still a massive amount of camber. Ride height is the same on both sides. 20" rubber wearing out prematurely is also a little scary!

My question is, can anyone suggest as to why one side of the vehicle responded to the new suspension setup and the other side did not. Can anyone suggest any fixes for this issue. The car also develops a high speed side to side wobble if driving on the freeway etc... (if driving on cambered road, or tyres track in a rut or something) the only way to stop the wobble is gradually slow down or plant your foot and drive out of it. The wobble feels and i suspect looks identical to the wobble you would see on a trailer being towed at reasonable speed. I dont like the feeling in the wet at 110 k's :) it may bite me some day!

Anyways i am thinking that these two probs may be associated with each other. Thoughts?

3rd gens run independant rears? there will be a camber arm, or at least a camber locating pin that may or may not be adjustable from the factory. I dont have a manual hand but if you take some pics i can point it out

as mentioned, you cannot adjust rear camber in the 3rd gens.

me thinks someone has hit a gutter!

Thanks for the early replies guys...

I havn't hit any gutters, but i can definately see that the car has at least been in a front end accident. This is very annoying to me because i asked car history at the time of purchase and was told no accident history, even though it has been mentioned on these forums that it had :( Never mind you get that. So maybe it could have been in a rear end or a sandwich?

That picture and instructions, wtf? I think i may need a mechanic to check this out :)

I will try and get some pics up for further assistance.

I think the fact you get the wobble and that the two rear measurements dont match clearly say there is some damage to that side. Have you looked for any damage or compared both sides? maybe a slightly bent upper control arm or the knuckle is misshapen somehow.

some monkey may have altered the rear toe

you need to go to a place that does alignments, not a chain that sell tyres

Yeah, the fact that they're dramatically different is pretty suss.

For reference, my TJ on Lows/KYBs and 18s is about 1.5-2 deg negative camber in the rear (can't remember exactly sorry). Both LHS and RHS are very similar.

i used to get the sway in my old car turned out the control arm bushes were shagged

The KCA357 kit is no longer in Whiteline's catalogue. :( A PDF of the document accompanying the KCA357 kit is still
available from Whiteline (http://www.whiteline.com.au/instruction/214_KCA357.pdf).

Ingalls Engineering in the states sells several camber kits for the USDM 3rd gen Diamante (http://www.ingallseng.com/mmy.php?year=2001&make=72&model=946&bbpart=Camber%20Kit). I believe similar kits are also available from Specialty Products Corporation and Eibach (also both in the states).

The Nolathane catalogue shows a part that looks very much like the Ingalls #35850 (though I've been given to understand Nolathane's pricing on this item is stiff... :nuts:).

Some search of the forums here should turn up info on DIY solutions (choice of bolt grade is important!!).

Just get some same tensile bolts (10.7) from memory, you can then use your own shims or washers to space out the top arms

You are best however to find what has been bent

Another thing, do yourself a favour and reset all your bushes and if any are damages which may also cause your camber issue, replace with rubber, not plastic rubbish

Rear camber on second gen can not be changed as you are runing a fixed axle
