I have a 2004 TL-LS magna with the standard radio & CD player (single disc). The radio works perfectly. However the CD player shows an E..2 function on the screen. No CD will work at all. The owners manual is a bit vague. What may be the problem? Does a head clean fix it, or is more serious?:confused::confused:

Perfect excuse to rip out the stock one and replace it with something decent... you wont regret it..

Pretty sure E.2 is cannot read disc...

dont bother with fixing a stock head unit.
better off buy a new one with waarenty etc etc and you can upgrade to MP3s.
just keep the stock head unit around incase you want to sell the car. then swtich them around and keep your after market headunit.

Step 1 Examine the exterior of the DVD player for any excess dust and dirt. Eject the DVD drawer and lightly dust the area.

Step 2 Find a blank DVD. Dip a cotton swab in rubbing alcohol, and apply it to the back of the DVD.

Step 3 Insert the DVD with the rubbing alcohol into the slot load DVD player. This may be enough to do the trick. If you continue to experience issues, proceed to the next step.

Step 4 Open the DVD drawer, and use a hair dryer to blow air onto it. This will help clean the area by removing remaining dust and dirt.
