Hey gang

My remote central locking has been playing up recently. It will only lock/unlock all the doors except the drivers. The drivers door remains silent as in it is not even trying to lock/unlock. I used both my usual and spare remote with the same result.

I have checked all the fuses in the kick panel and under the bonnet which are ok.

I have shined a torch down into the door cavity and all wires/levers appear connected.

The central locking using the key in the driver's door works ok.

The central locking pressing the lock/unlock button on the driver's door trim works ok.

Interestingly, if I lock the car pressing the lock/unlock button on the driver's door trim, I then cannot unlock the car at all with the remote, and vice versa. The indicators flash but that's it.

I can live with just central locking but if it's something relatively straight forward and not too costly to fix, I will give it a go. Any help much appreciated.

Thanks

The problem appears to be fixed. I thought it was a mechanical problem but should have tried reprogramming the remote first. :facepalm Anyhow for reference:

- Sitting in unlocked car with all doors closed, put the key in the ignition and turn it from the 'acc' or 'on' position 3 times within 5 secs.
- The indicators should flash once to confirm it is in programming mode.
- Press either button on the remote key fob within 5 secs of the indicator flash.
- The remote should now be programmed to unlock/lock the car.

Now since then there has been one occasion where the car refused to unlock at all with the remote and the indicators simply flashed like before. But there have been no occasions where the car has not locked itself with the remote which is good.
