Hey guys, put my Pioneer DEH-P7050BT head unit into the magna a while back. On hot days when the volume is up (stock speakers) the speakers will cut out. The head unit still continues on playing the CD, but there is no audio.
Any ideas as to what could be causing this, don't really want to take it to a professional to look at unless i have to.
Cheers, TimmyB

sounds like there earthing out somewhere, or your HU is not working right. (if both speaker cutout) are you running an amp to the speakers?

nope, no amp. and yeah, front and rears both cut out. the head unit worked fine in my old car so i'm leaning away from that.

Was it just after you installed this headunit?
You havent run any aftermarket cabling to the speakers? Just all factory?
If its JUST the headunit, sounds like it *could* be overheating internally or possibly, but unlikely, your earth connection isnt very secure.

but hot days + high volume = more heat for electronics. and electronics dont like heat.

yeah it was fine with the stock head unit, it's just since i installed this one. all factory cabling.

i second tufftr either overheating (never realy heard of head units doing it to much) or dodgy earth. or maybe you have some wires earthing out

yeah i might take it out and check all my wiring and try a different earth point then, see if that fixes it

I am gonna have to go with Tuff on this one and say over heating..

To help this.. Try and keep the deck free by about 1.5 inches all around try and allow the deck to breathe as much as possible..
