Apologies if this has been covered before as I couldn't find anything in search that was what I needed. Excuse my description of bits because I don't know exactly which consoles were with what versions. I was at the wreckers today getting bits and ended up buying a flat faced center console / headunit thing.

My car originally had one of those crap looking angled center consoles which was obliterated and in a thousand peices. The wreckers didn't have any of these types hence the newer looking one I bought.

Questions I have:

-Can the angled ash tray and ciggy lighter panel be removed or do I have to remove the entire dash from the car?

-The steel bracket doesn't seem to match up with any mounts on the floor pan am I missing another bracket or are the mounts different in this model?

I have looked into swaping dashes from model to model
It can be done as long as you have every bracket and screw ready to bolt in

my problem was TN to TP and didnt have the time

I think some mounting brackets differ and there would be wiring issues
as well as plastic vent pipes

whole dash needs to be swapped. if its really that important you may be able to modify the existing dash to fit the new center console

Modify is the way to go I reckon, doesn't have to win an Autosalon, think I'll just hack the required area out of the dash and modify the four mounts on the floor.

At this stage I'm more focused on how it connects to the floor, before I go back to the wreckers to mess around I'd like to get a better idea how it all bolts down.

Anyone got pics of the floor mounts in these newer things? Also does the steel frame surrounding the console face bolt directly to the floor or is there another plate I don't have from floor to console body?

I need that U shaped bracket. Mine are similar to the rear mounts ie close to the floor.

iv had a look, the u shaped bracket does bolt to the floor, you should be able to get one from the wreckers. let me know how different the actual dash part is. cos i wouldnt mind putting in a tm center console, i actually like the look a lot better than the tp's
