Hey guys,

My KS failed pink slip today because the horn is broken. The relay doesnt even make that tick noise that it should, anyone have any ideas how i can fix this or do i have to pay the mechanic to do it?

Mafia staff cars don't need no sissy pink slip! lol

Try swapping the relay with another, if you get 12 v at the horn but it doesn't make horny noises, replace the horn!

Check that the horn pad is actually closing the circuit.

horn relay is in the engine relay box.

the horm runs a constant 12V with the ground closing the circuit, so make sure youre getting +12v on the horn. (as mentioned above)

else, it may be that the pin behind the steering wheel has managed to grind itself down enough that it's not making proper contact with the copper ring anymore. it's a pull-out pin, so grab another one from the wreckers if that's the case.

ok thanks for that yann, i think it may be that pin you mentioned as the buttons on the wheel dont feel quite right

I checked the fuses, no problem there, there is no current coming to the relay so there is deffinately something going in the cabin, ill pull apart the steering wheel tomorrow

Current don't you mean voltage? check to see if the horn switch is working properly by disconnecting it and using a multimeter on ohms scale and press the horn switch you should get 0 ohms or around that

Brian, I have a way to test its getting power. Run a small length of wire from the horn ground pin to the chassis. It should go off, if it doesnt its power related, if it does, its ground related (most likely the buttons).

fixed it, problems include:
-broken button
-bad ground in the steering wheel
-fuses had to be replaced
-horn had connection issues....
