Hey guys I a while ago people were talking about wanting to swap the orientation of the tiptronic auto shifter . I found this site through an email at autospeed - it gives exact instructions on how to do this (its for a FTO, but apparantly they are the same boxes).

I dont know why you would want to change it.

Its the same style as the rally cars and most sports cars..

I dunno if you've used one, but I don't wreckon it feels right ... IMHO it feels more natural to pull back to shift up while accelerating, & push forward to shift down while decelerating... I know thats what I automatically went to do every time i used manual for the first 3months or so!

I think it's more natural to have it that way it is considering it is still an auto!

Not that anyone cares, but I'm with Bain and MagnaLE. I reckon Mitsubishi got it right and Ford got it backwards.

Greetings All.

I guess its just all personal preference . . . And well, i think it feels more comfortable the way ford did it . . .
