Hey Magna Boffins,
I've recently sent the beast for a 105 000 km service and a timing belt change. After getting it back, the exhaust note sounds different. Hard to describe but it now has a sort of 'purring' sound to it when it revs. I know that's maybe what some people like but I'm concerned that something might have been tampered with under the hood.
THe muffler is a Walker twin outlet unit and had a deep bass note (I've also got Pacemaker Headers). Performance wise, I can't really tell, although scientifically it is proven that exhaust note does have a psychological effect on the driver...
Question is: Can anything they've done cause that? Nothing in the service manual indicates anything about the exhaust/emission being altered/changed.
Any thoughts will be helpful.
cheers.
