View Full Version : Unlocking,locking all by herself!

Hi all,car has started to unlock and then lock itself over and over,had a look through here but no luck, any ideas ? The missus noticed luckily just before lights out otherwise she'd be flat as a tack in the morn!

I had the same problem with my remote on a Toyota ... used the key without the immobiliser / Central locking that seems to fix it.
The immobiliser unit was crook.

My daughters Lancer had this problem. Turned out to be a wire from the solenoid shorting out on the inside of the door. A friend at work had a similar prob on her Mitsi. Same thing.

my Dad had this on his Falcon. It was just the shorting wires.

it will be the drivers door.

my VW did it randomly overnight flattening the battery...took ages to find.


scarey that it does it in a car park when unattended also...

Nope to all! luckily stumbled across the spare key this morning when looking for something and there it was flashing away. Hid the key in a draw far from the car and no more problems!The keys case is a bit split open so thats the issue there I guess but not sure why it chose now to play up? Anyway I'm happy its nothing serious cos don't know about you guys, but I always tend to think of worse case senarios when crap like this happens!
