Hi Peoplez,

I am new to aussiemagna.com, a mate of mine referred me to this for any questions/suggestions regarding my 1996 TE magna(auto), i bought a month ago. I need the wheel alignment to be done, please advise how much a wheel alignment would cost and what is the time frame like? I mean 2 business days or more. Just to let you all know that this is my first car, and i know i may sound a bit stupid, but as most of you know, everybody's a first time somewhere.

cheers

Vish

Any wheel and tyre shop can do a wheel alignment. They vary in cost, but most shops (in Sydney) seem to charge about $40, and take about 1/2 an hour or so.

Thanks mate, I was worried as I thought it might take a day or two for wheel alignment!!!

Book it in, $45, 1 hour at most.

HINT (seeing you are new to the car game): After the alignment they will take your car around the block, then try to sell you any number of things, like tyres, steering rack, CV joints. Don't argue, just listen and write down what they list, tell them you will think about it, then ask a knowledgeable friend or neighbour to check those points out.

Any tire shop will be able to do it for you - prices are much the same plcae to place so they all stay competitive with each other / other businesses.

Some mechanics workshops even have the wheel alignment stuff in thier workshops.

As said above, doesnt take too long to do - if they have to make many adjustments to things, itl take a little longer but certainly not a day!

Agreed -$40 to $55 is the standard price with time taken being up to an hour.

Mine cost me $60. But it was a really good alignment job with printout of (toe and camber) values before and after alignment.

JAX offer a really good service for $66, front and rear tyres with a printout of values before and after alignment. When I went there, they told me one of my front camber pins were off by .5 degrees. Really decent people there

Mine was $55 a couple of weeks back, $90 all up inc balancing as well. Was happy with that, esp seeing the alignment was way out.

Where in VIC are you?
