Hello all!! Some noob broke into my car and stole nothing but smashed my back passenger window.. got qouted 250 to replace new? How hard are they to replace yourself and what should i look to pay at the wreckers? :zap: thanks

Takes half an hour tops.
same thing happened to me last week. RACV wanted $250 to repair. I went to the local wreckers and took out a window there. cost me $30 and took me an hour to install. its pretty easy to put in your self. the black triangle thing near the handle is a bit fiddly

Yeah, forgot about that bit. One hour tops then. lol
Don't forget to get all of the glass out of the door as it will rattle if left in there. If you get one from the wreckers you strip the door, remove the triangle bit and use a 10 mm socket to undo the two bolts holding the glass to the mechanism, it then lifts out if you tilt it. Wreckers are a good place to practice this sort of thing! lol
Another bonus of DIY, $30 versus $250. I rest my case!

look like im gonna have to do this myself someone or something smash mine yesterday,got the replacement but its not installed just yet.

If yours is a power window there is a few more bolts and it gets a bit fiddly.

Yeah i was just told by the guys in the workshop,they will sort it out tomorrow.
