Hey guys the rear passenger side window seems to be over-lapping the door frame and seal everytime we shut it, while the window is fully up. This means everytime we get out of the car we need to shut the rear door and put the window up while its shut to guide the window into the right position.
Has anyone else had this problem??
I tried taking off the door trim and adjusting the arms that hold the window but it still doesnt work
Cheers for any help

p.s will get pics asap

i had this issue. I also noticed that all my door strikers have been moved as well. I've been having problems with my rear Passenger side window not sealing against the rubber seal Along the freeway, air comes into the gap and it becomes annoying at 1st... What i did was i undid the door bolts and adjusted the actual door. I put wood pegs under the the door against the sill so it wouldn't drop too much. To get my window to seal.. I pushed against the side i wanted closer to the seal.

In your instance. I'd be looking at either look for an adjustment on the window regulator and see if you can get the window to go up closer to the car. OR adjust the door by undoing the bolts on the door at the hinges, and possibly pull the bottom of the door out and push the top of the door closer to the car.

Good luck

I just adjusted mine. Inside the door lock mechanism there is some material looks like velcro when it is pulled out. Somehow mine became bunched and wasn't allowing the door to close properly. I'll get a pic. This was a simple fix I found may not be your problem though.

Are you talking about the top of the window sitting against the outside of the lip it is meant to sit under?
If so, there is plenty of adjustment points to adjust the window once you pull off the door trim.
It is fiddly and takes a bit of patience, but it is well worth it. My wifes car had gaps you put cardboard through on the rear doors.
Adjusted the glass postion when fully up, it is now quiet as.

Cheers guys

Johnny: Ive checked to see if anything is hitting or getting in the way but its all clear from what i can see

Daz: If the window is fully up when i close the door the glass sits ontop of the door deal, instead of inside the door seal where it should be. I played around with a few of the arms and what not but i guess ill have to pull it all apart agian and have another squiz

Also i had alook at garys suggestion of adjusting the door, but if i move it around too much the lines and curves of the doors dont add up. :( Not winning here

Thanks again guys

Hi TL,
Adjusting the door will not make any difference if the body alignment is correct.
There are multiple adjustment points for the window itself, however I suspect that you may need to adjust the travel stops for when the glass is in the raised position. Lower the window slightly and drop the stoppers a few mm.
Failing that adjust the winder mechanism itself by adjusting the bottom into the door and the top away from the door. You will need a spanner set and a hex key set to do this.
Where abouts are you in NSW?
If you need a copy of the page(s) from the workshop manual, PM me your email and I will email you with the pages.
Good luck.

Well after ripping the door apart again, to go with dazmags advice to adjust the stoppers, i found the problem. The stoppers at the top of the inside door frame are mounted in place on the door, whereas there is a little arm on the window itself that catches the stopper when it gets to the top (in the closed position). The little arm on the window has broken in half, so when it reaches the stopper it just slides past it making the window go higher than it needs to, hence why it wont close right.

So after trying to plastic weld it (with a gas bottle and kitchen knife lol) and glued it, it still broke as it wasnt strong enough. So i need to order a new one.

I got the part number i need but who do i call? Cheers for all the help guys

Does "courteous service" translate to "over priced ass faces who only car about selling the car to you and never hearing from you again"???

P;s thanks for the help buddy
