Hey im hoping someone may have some ideas, long story short, my brother has a KS V3000 (verada) and his auto finally died after many probs and leaks. Anyway we got a second hand box, and put it in. It went perfectly, shifted smooth, downshifted smooth, was literally perfect. after about 30kms of driving, he was driving along and suddenly it just lost drive. fluid level was overfull, but i had got it right when fitted so knew something was amiss. i thought it was a blocked filter that was stoping flow, explaining it now been overfull. we dropped the sump and replaced the filter, old one looked really blocked up, and put in new fluid. it now has reverse, which drops in perfect, no slipping, but still no drive. i have checked everything, and no clue as to the cause. I believe the filter stopped flow and burned out the drive discs. Anybody have any ideas?? cheers guys, im here as last resort as he doesnt want to spend anymore money on it, and after doing all the work ourselves, he is not keen on risking another second hand box. the worst part is it has an lsd fitted and we got the box for $165 , and saw the donor car drive before it was removed.

how do you feel about dismantling the box

That is the next step. May do soon, just on the weekend, we had spent a few days doing it all so were out of motivation! but that is what we will do!

did you replace the torque converter ?
and did you swap the auto tranny computer unit
that came with the box

the oil pump seems to be ok if you have reverse

next recheck all the wiring plugs into and out of the box

yeah checked it all and its all correct, didnt worry about the trans computer as its exactly the same box, F4A33. were pretty sure the filter blocked up while driving and cause damage to the discs etc. after a filter change, reverse came back but no drive, it would try to but no go. He can get it reconned for $600 so thats what he is gonna do.
