Just thought I'd give a heads up to anyone who has done the rubber strip mod and fitted a galant intake....I checked under the bonnet just before after some heavy rain to find water sitting just on the front of the intake duct. Dont want to be sucking in to much of that!

Mm yeah.. I'd say having the box is an advantage.. has an area for water to drop, and drain away - over pods and the like in the bumper.

Not saying it's a non issue, especially if you really suck it in.. but would help I think.

The way this water had collected was from it dripping over the edge of the bonnet and underneath where the rubber strip is removed. Driving along, unless the rain was traveling horizontally I doubt it....plus the heat under the bonnet would dissipate any rain drops I'd imagine

Well I never got one locust sucked in to the airbox but had them everywhere else after travelling back through the Riverland last week. But I am going to replace my cut seal as its too risky for foreign bodies (no disrespect to foriegn people) LOL:nuts:

Seriously, guys a bit of water in through the intake is not going to do anything. Don't worry about it.

Water makes the fuel burn better from what I heard

In minimal amounts of course

It cools combustion & creates a bigger charge in the cylinder = more go & if chipped more advance can be added.
