Hey guys,
Well finally got some free time to spear over the long weekend so i thought perfect, i'll rape my new VRX and put a nice sound system in!
The Lineup Includes
Pioneer P7600MP - Seriously smick deck, gota love that OEL Display :D
Kicker IX404 Amp
Pioneer 6.5" splits
Pioneer 3 way 6x9's
I have alot more pics of the install but this is the basic idea, starting to write up the tech articles finally :D The system was built and tuned for clarity not volume lol Im deaf enough as it is after my doof doof stage
Enjoy!

One more guys :D
hmm...all nice and neat, i make such a mess whatever i do
like the splits install on the door...i need to do that sometime soon. did it come stock with that white plastic stuff? 6" fits in perfectly?

Everything you see on the door come stock except for the speaker, crossover and tweater :D
Its a breeze installing splits, just use the stock wiring, don't go through the drama of trying to thread new cable through the door grommets...
Looks very nice indeed, how long did It take you to get through it all?
With the tweeters is there factory spaces for them up near the mirror or is some creativeness required there?
Edit: hehe, you were one step ahead of me..

It took me two days as I had to drill the deck out of the consol chassis - The bolts retaining the stock deck in i sware were welded in lol
You could knock it over in a day but i took my time to make sure i don't damage anything. I also had a mission of a time trying to figure out how the electric arial works
The VRX had factory tweeters so I just replaced them with the pioneer ones and used the factory cover. Im happy with the way it turned out. Everything is back where it should be, nothing broken and the system looks factory with the exception of the deck.
In a nutshell, super pleased
I hate magna dash
The screws on the HU are in pretty tight. tried unscrewing them but ended up rounding off the screw + shape thingy. pushed down so hard i bent the frame a bit too  but yeh, ended up drilling mine too, only have 2 badly damaged screws left after i removed my HU.
yeh, i need to find a place to mount my tweeters.. ..circles on dashboard should do fine tho :)

Nice stealth install... only with using the stock speaker wires through the door grommet, you may want to upgrade this if you ever get a bigger amp (that looks like the Impulse 4x40?). It is nowhere near as hard as some people think to run new wire through the doors, and it ensures less sound loss.

Your right Tek, but for my system the amp is only 4x40wrms (seriously under rated up, it goes hard!)
For what im using them for I think the stock wiring will do fine, its of a sufficient gauge too, alot fatter than in the TE's i had. Its larger that what pioneer supplied so thats a good sign.

I replaced the wire man it was a **** to get through those grommets took the longest out of anything in the install.

hehe, a good idea. Your HU looks good. I coudlnt get mine to mount flush like yours i couldnt get that silver thing to click on properly around the edges. Stupid JVC screw holes dont line up right. The install looks clean as. You can tell how clean an install is by the amp mounting and wiring and yours looks smick as so well done :D

Hey looks nice and neat!!! Just one question, do you lose sound quality if you mount your crossover for your splits far away from your speakers???? I know you have to use twice as much cabling, but i think have your crossovers mounted in your boot nice and neat looks good!

Cheers Guys,
Jono I had my crossovers in the boot and now in the doors and in my opinion the system sounds better when the crossovers are mounted closer to the speakers. But you would probobly bearly even notice it at all if you had them in the boot.

Nice work mate. Very clean and very proffessional :D

Thats very proffessional, I always start slow saying I'm going to do everything right, then by the end of the day I'm rushing everything becuase it's so frustrating..lol
Also how hard is it to take the front seats out blake???

bah  screws don't line up, but my sleeve does :D

Yeah... I had to drill my original deck out as well... whats up with those screws?

My pioneer ones didn't line up either... sat too far back into the dash. I had to file the holes in the mounting bracket to make them more of an oblong shape to bring the deck forward to get it to fit. Was a pain in the arse that took forever, but I was determined to get it sitting right.

Did you guys screw your deck into the console chassis? Or did you just use the retaining sleeve (image shown below). I found that all the decks i screwed in I could never get the surround to fit but ones where i use the sleeve install so much nicer.

should always use the supplied sleeve - always mounts cleaner!!
Hmm, that stuff looks familiar - i believe it pulled most of it out of a 2.4L and installed it into a 3L only to have it ripped out of that and put into a 3.5L - make up your mind man ;)
Very clean - even i am impressed - much better then your effort on your 2.4L ;)

The only deck I have changed so far is the one in the Toyota, and Pioneer have always had mounting holes for Toyota and Nissan. Super easy change over, and fits perfectly.

I screwed my deck into the chassis. Figured it would be alot harder to steal than with using the sleeve.

ENCN true,
But after having my last cars broken into i've reached the conclusion that if they want it they will get it. If they can't they will just damage everything in the process. I would rather than rip my deck out without destroying the dash, console and everything else in the car...

Nice install Blake
Any chance of pics of the door mounted tweeter pods? I'm thinking of getting a set of those plastic enclosures from Mitsu to house mine when I get my speakers.
What's the diameter of those tweeters?
