Right, first off, before easter my car was driving fine, no steering wheel vibes and drove straight and true, went away for easter leaving the car behind. Returned to find the LH front tyre was flat. Thought OK must be a puncture with a small leak. Took it in, turned out tyre was fine, rim, had a crack.
So the spare went on, and while traveling to Toowoomba there is a stretch of hwy with a 100km limit. Wheel starts shaking, OK I thought, spare needs a balance ( the car had a balance and alignment a month before) so got it balanced.
Everything was fine after.
Went on the Sunshine Coast Cruise, no vibe on the Warrego on the way there, car performed flawlessly throughout the twisties. However, on the Bruce heading back to Brissie to head back home, the shaking steering wheel returned. Thought that the wheel must have thrown a balance weight. Got home and all was well.
Finished work and went to run some errands today, F***!!! the same LH front was flat again!!
So, broke out the gear to change it and decided to have a closer look.
There is no movement in the joints, CV boots are in perfect condition, all bushes are in good nick too. Checked the tyre and rim. Couldn't find any noticable punture marks in the tyre and checke the rim and couldn't find anything to explain it.
So, the new spare with the crack is back on, while the other is going in hopefully, if work gives me time off, tomorrow to get checked.
I'm thinking maybe a CV shaft or joint is rooted, but, what can cause 2 flats on the same side.
Any Ideas?

Cheers

Driveshaft wouldn't cause a flat tyre. I'd say you just have some bad luck mate.

Get some half water and detergent mix, apply with pastry brush and check that repair.
I rarely believe in co-incidence.

make sure you have a couple of cans of tyre weld in the boot, just in case. can come in handy when you have already used your spare

it works better than 2 flat tyres :bowrofl:

I have used it before, you can only drive @ 80kmph for about 50-100k's per can. Last time i had a flat in an old work car was about 8pm just south of gympie (and our spare was already flat from a puncture earlier the same day!). So we put the flat tyre on the back, and filled it up with this crap. Drove about 80kms (half way home, then swapped it with the other flat tyre, filled it up too, and made it the rest of the way home :) The guys at bob jane did not appreciate having to clean out two tyres the next morning lol
