Could be the headlight stalk, this has happened to me before.

Just to be sure, check for power at the plug at the globe and work back from there

Have you checked to see if there is power at the lights, dont assume anything just because you have new globes

If no power there, see if you can borrow a stalk from someone as the lights are a different circuit to the parkers and indicators

When you say the highbeams are not coming on, are they the ones in the outer ones (55/60) or the inner 55watt ones? As Mal said, have you checked for power at the lights?

all 4 are not coming on and it appears there is no power going to them...according to my multimetre

I'm going to ask a question and don't be offended by it but are you sure it's on the right setting? (DC 20V?)

For things like this, you should really use a test light.

Fuse should be fine, can use the multimeter to test these anyway, I would replace the stalk, or at least plug another one as Magmagna has mentioned.

i tried another stalk with no difference...but when i flick the high beam on not even the high beam light comes on in the instrument cluster!

Sounds like a doozy mate, just make sure 100% the fuse and relay are good. Hope you work it out dude.

Have you checked for continuity at the fuses and relays and fusable links? Could be a cable got disconnected under the dash.

I think i'm not going to risk damaging anything else i'm just going to take it to a sparky thanks for your help anyways!

Ok...
I bought a new headlight switch..no luck
I took apart the inside of my car under the drivers foot well no such luck no damaged or disconnected wiring.
I took my headlights out and checked out the plugs, (i hit a kangaroo not too long back and had the front end replaced and the panel beaters cut the headlight cables and put new plugs on) and I soldered them all up even though they are we all good.
Used a test pen and checked the parkers, the low beam and the high beam, only the parkers had power going to them and that was the problem before, I put the car back together and i used the test pen to check all the fuses...and after checking all the fuses worked properly, I thought since the fuses had power going to them id check the headlights again...and out of no where they worked.
(I also unbolted the fuse box and put it back in after checking for damaged cables)
I haven't gone for a drive yet but all the headlights are working again.

Thats a bit weird. Must have been a loose connection at the fuse ? Or you partly reconected a loose wire or plug when you unscrewed the whole fuse box ? I hate intermittent electrical problems. Hard to sort out. I hope they remain working for you.

being in qld has ur car ever been flooded i have seen problems like this in cars from nth qld where the main loom rusts up and breaks one or two wires

Remember that Magna run a slightly weird system for the head lights, traditional cars have an earth and switch the positive

Magna have a fairly complicated set up where the common wire switches from positive to negative and the main High bean wire is always positive regardless if the low beam are on or not as when on low beam, the common is a positive feed anyway
