Today I attempted to obtain a road worthy certificate for my Series III 380 SX. It failed the examination as brake fluid was found leaking from both front calipers.

The 380 has only done 46,000 km and was serviced just last week.

I immediately decided the place performing the inspection (an independent) were dodgy and took the car to a different Mitsubishi dealer for a second opinion.

The Mitsubishi dealer confirmed that both front calipers are leaking and it will be fixed under warranty when a new kit comes in.

My questions to the 380 community are:
- Has anyone else had this problem with so little km?
- What will have caused this to happen?

first ive ever heard of that happening and ive done more ks as what your car has done in its whole life in the last year alone and in all that driving never had an issue with any leaks from anywhere. Defiantly doesnt sound right. All the best with it mate and keep us all posted

Do you need the pink slip inspection in your state? I thought new cars nationwide were covered by the non-inspection period. I guess its different in every state.

Transferring into the ACT from interstate. Untill now I was only here on a part time basis but am now permanent.

having oils, hydrocarbons mix is bad, and makes the seals swell up and eventually leak. It might just have been a manufacturing screwup where somebody's accidentally contaminated the calipers with some oil.
