Same as the Sub Thread : You dont have to be pro.. Hell if they are Rampage 2-ways. This is not a thread about How much money you have spent...
Its about what you have got...

Brand : Clarion
Model SRS-1625S

Powered by : Sony Xplod Headunit
Cost $110 Clearance.

Pro's
Inexpensive, Great sounding for the Money, Reasonably shallow cast. Mettallic Injected Mica Cone for durability. They are pretty snazzy looking with a nice metallic finish to the cone without looking cheap and nasty.

Downsides
There rated at 180W Music Power.. Not a true RMS value. So I am doubtful as to if they could cope with a serious amp behind them.
The Tweeter is Bright...So bright that on the Deck I have them set at +2/10.
The Inline Filter is small, which with careless hands could be damaged.

Reason for Choice
I bought the SRS 1625's as I needed to replace the Stock Magna fronts and Clarion have never steered me wrong before.
I demo'd them instore and loved the crisp sounding Tweeter and the fact they have a -6db inline cross over so installation was easy and no need to try and find room for a massive Cross over.
Running them off the 52Wx4 Head unit has had some suprising results. They are able to keep up with the Two 12 inch subs in the boot without the need for additional amplification and without sounding strained. The intention was always to run them off the deck and for this purpose, they are a great sounding choice for a Inexpensive Front end.. Although it is Highly recommneded to install an MDF build out to mount them on as these puppies make the Doors Shake with their out put.
