Hi all, just bought my first car:facejump:, a white 1992 TR Magna 4cyl auto Executive (161,335km). I've taken it to a Mitsubishi dealer for a RWC, and they came back with a long, long list of stuff that needs fixing. Just wondering if you guys could cast an eye over it and let me know if the prices are okay?

Mate, some of that is crazy!
You need a good mechanic, who you can trust.
I suggest you post your suburb and someone can recommend a mechanic nearby.
Get them to give you their advice.
For the list of $$$'s above, sorry but you are maybe better of looking at another car?

Yeah the wipers were what prompted me to post, I mean I don't know much about cars but a wiper insert is just a piece of rubber ffs.
I'm in Tarneit/Werribee VIC 3029.

Hopefully it'll be cheaper than that. FWIW the body and interior are in perfect condition, so I'd like to keep it if I can.

Fantastic! They have given you a list of things that need fixing, now go and fix them yourself, or get a reasonable mechanic to do it. Some of the prices they have given you , like brake pads and rotors are just crazy!

lol lol Dam dealer they know nothing about cars sometimes, they are you are overcharging you quote a lot. My headlight cost me $220 for the pair they came from WA lol Door handle are a easy fix go to wrecker cheap, tyres are cheaper at tyre place and with the brake seem over price you might not need you rotors replace take to a brake place. It hard to find a good mechanic this list seem that try to get buissness from you.

Check my car it got KS I think they look lot better than the stock, check the for sell part of the forum 2nd gen part came up for sale. That what I have been doing. The wreckers charge me for 4 internal door handles for $40. So every time I take my car some where I keep a open mind.

There's a few on ebay (http://shop.ebay.com.au/i.html?_nkw=magna+headlights&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=) at the moment for sub $200 delivered, they're the ones that look like these (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/MAGNA-VERADA-TS-TR-KS-KR-SPORTS-HEADLIGHTS-V-G-C-/160428087838?cmd=ViewItem&pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item255a425a1e) (or as stated, check out half of the profile pics here, mine included). If you are going to spend money on headlights, may as well get some nice-looking ones!:ninja:
Just to give you an idea, my local wreckers regularly has "$49 all you can carry" days, and pretty sure a set of standard headlights would set me back maybe $20 normally. I got a spare set of inner door handles (to spray silver) for about $5 - $10.
