Careful with your new car warranty mate. Etractors can void your warranty.

On the subject of warranty, here is mitsubishis written response to a letter I sent regarding all types of modification:
"Thank you for you letter dated ...bla bla
Any Modification to the vehicle has a potential effect on warranty, ie. if the modification causes a problem or component failure, those items will not be covered by the original manufacturer's warranty. If the modifications do not cause a problem, obviously these will not be a warranty concern. ... bla bla"
So if you have extractors and your door falls off - they pay :D . If the engine blows up - you pay  .

To add a correction, There is no brand called Mandrill..

The term Mandrel Bends means that the exhaust pipe diameter remains the same at bends as compared to Press Bends where the diameter becomes smaller at the bends.

I highly Recommend RPW's system over others and a MagnaFlow muffler to suit :D...

As for your TJ, it runs 2 1/2 inch Mild Steel system pipe which is sufficient for your car until it's highly tuned.

mate for pacers your looking at about $550 installed, and for RPW's your looking at about $800

the exhaust system is already a Mandrel Bent system, so you shouldnt have to replace that, just maybe the rear muffler, which u can either get a lukey for about $160, nice and cheap but does the job well, or go for something a bit better like a Magnaflow, nice stainless stell muffler that goes for about $400

good luck, keep us posted

I've got the MagnaFlow before so I'm gonna help out on this one.. IT SOUNDS FANTASTIC! I got people including coppers asking me if I had put a V8 in it because of the rumble :D

Oh you're one of those lucky ones who lives in Perth eh? Find out who RPW are and give them a call!!!

The rest of us on the east coast have to be content with getting advice from RPW over the phone and email, paying freight on all the good go fast bits, and taking our chances with finding a shop that knows a thing or two about magna v6's.

I know some of y'all will disagree with the rosy picture I painted about RPW - and to be honest I haven't dealt with them yet - but they would definetly be my first point of contact for any perfomance mods to a magna if I lived in perth.

You've seen it before right? It's got a DEFINATE improvement over the mid range but it's also complemented by RPW's Extractors... DEEP GROWL... sounds heaps better over the Redbacks or Lukeys....

Greetings All.

What do you guys think of this combo; RPW extractors, Redback 2.5" Cat-Back System, Hiflow Magna Flow Cat, Magnaflow Rear Muffler w/ Tip?
For a highly worked N/A engine....of course!!
Also where would be able to source these parts around sydney?

Cheers,

3.5 or 3. auto or man?

If its an auto, dont bother.. its going to make your already boggy car a tiny bit quicker and isn't worth the bs amount they charge for it.
Manual ide say try get a cheap muffler and extractors, leave piping in place

I reckon a nice set of extractors and a highflow muffler, both are quite debatable on brands and styles but none the less you will get a nice note and you may see some performance increase

Cause auto's are the tools of the devil  . Your realise the high 14 second/ flat 15 second ralliart comes with tippy auto. Keyword there being 'auto'.

Exactly, and so is Australia's fastest Nissan 200sx.

Honestly, there is so much BS sprouted about autos... It's just another gearbox - I wouldn't want to drive a manual in 1 hour bumper-to-bumper traffic.

Nothin wrong with autos, but they are alwasy slower than the equivalent manual model of the same car unless they are heavilly reworked like in the fastest 200sx. Try driving a fully worked auto on the street, you'll wish it was manual lol .

I have a mate who used to have a heavilly worked VL turbo, it had a reworked auto, HD low slip torque converter, 3500rpm stall converter and all the other necessary conponents to handle the power and it was a dog to drive around town

"autos are always slower than manuals"

thats so not true, it all depends on the driver, with auto's u get a more consistant run, while with manauls you have to perfect shift. But ofcource when it comes to drift, manual is the go.

There are plenty of auto V8's, rb30et etc using tricked up auto gear boxes doing low 12's on street trim. and arnt auto's stronger? :)

I was talking about having the same skilled test driver in both auto and manual of the same "Factory" model car (eg: in a Magna 3.5 TH), manual will be faster. :D

ZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzz.....

This could go on for a while and get nowhere - search for auto vs manual on aus.cars for some truly (not) rivetting arguments...
