as the title states are you able to fit twin pot 2nd gen front brakes to a 1st gen?

I've worked on both, and they are very similar. However, the 2 pot calipers come from the V6 with 15 inch rims, while the 1st gen runs 14 inch rims and they won't fit. You will need the bigger disc rotors and 15 inch wheels.
I'm not too sure about this, so wait for confirmation from others. ok?

i have 17's on my car and i dont think it would be too mch hassle to redrill the rotors to suit the 4 stud

Oops! forgot about the 4 and 5 stud patterns! lol. If your rotors were originally under 14 inch rims, they would be too small for the twin pot caliper and pads. I wouldn't redrill rotors on a safety basis.

Older members may be able to answer it. But if the splines match (which I think they DONT) you should just be able to use the whole hubs, that'd make it heaps easier.
find out what spline shaft a 1st gen is and a KS. go from there :D

No go as the first gen has a 4 stud front wheel and I am sure a smaller lower ball joint
The strut assy is different, the rotor smaller thus with the 4 stud the 5 stud rotor will not fit
