as in title my exhaust seems to cough at around 2000-3000 rpm i have only had it for about 6 months and from what i can see when they replaced it they cut the system halfway down and attempted to weld on the new half with a small cut of metal is that any good or was this a dodgy job?

The "no spam" rule forbids me to say your car has caught the flu and needs to see a doctor!
Honestly, few people would say a car "coughs". Does it misfire, or run rough at that engine speed? Perhaps the new bits haven't been fully welded up and you are hearing gas escape? As for a "dodgy job" we would need to see pictures of the actual joint and the "small cut of metal" you refer to.

a faulty weld wouldn't cause it to cough i would think.
If your car is lowered it may be your exhaust hitting something as you go over bumps. My old commodore used to fart and choke (only sound) when i used to go over big bumps as it was lowered.
