I have a 2005 GTVi and up until late it has been perfect......

Of late though when I get in and start the car it drops the revs and dies.....Then I restart and all is fine.....

Has been doing this for about three weeks........It is still in warranty but I want to have an idea of what it may be before I bring it in........

Anyone had the same issue and what was it???

cheers

mine did this for a while... then one morning my battery was flat and i tried to charge it, and it didn't becuase by my guess it had dropped a few cells...

i replaced the battery and it hasnt done it since

so i would be looking into your battery mate, how old is it?

Yep.. Sounds like the 'typical' battery or immobiliser issue..

Listed in the forums a few times if you look for it.

Ok I have replaced the battery and the stall issue is history.......for the moment anyway.

However on restart and for the couple drives I did today I have "4d" flashing in the cluster of the Verada now. It doesn't go away and you cannot use the trip computer any longer????

Am going to Mitsubishi in the morning to get my radio code as my radio code card was blank........but thought I would ask if this is a common issue??

cheers

Mate, cause you've changed the battey you need to reset, the 4d means AWD, hold down the set buton on the trip it should then come up with S for sedan do the same, then your set

I'm pretty sure 4d means 4 Door as in sedan, then it asks 3.5 for 3.5L V6...but ok. lol

Lugo,
4D means AWD as they have a smaller fuel tank.
Check the owners manual.

I had this exact issue, turns out it was the key reader and not the immobiliser (as first suspected).

I replaced the key reader in mine, and hasn't done it since.

Definitely the battery. I have just had the same problem and it was the battery. Replace it and you will be right.

Is a common issue and not just with Mitsubishi cars

When you crank, the battery drops below 10.5v for a second, this is long enough for the relays for the ecu and fuel pump to drop out and thus you get a stall, the alt has given a minute boost to the battery in this process thus when you restart all is good

Ohh shhh.... Really? I'm using a sedan cluster. How big is the difference?
