G'day all,
Today I was checking my brake lights on my TL and realised they didn't work:eek2:. So as anyone would I checked the fuse box. The fuses were fine so for a minute I thought it may have been from the trailer connections we did a couple of weeks ago. I didn't bother checking this so I went straight to looking at the switch/plunger on the pedal. When I fiddled with it, it worked again and then it would stop again. I then decided to take it out and clean it out. This didn't help much either. Is this a common problem with the TLs? Also would you need to buy this part genuine? And how much would they cost? Thanks in advance.:woot:

I got a price on the switch today. It was riculous as you could only buy it genuine. Went to the dealer and they said $155. However, I fiddle with the switch more and it seems to work for the moment. I'll see how I go.

or mate go to your local wrecker and grab a switch from there....

also if they dont have any im sure that a electronics shop such as jaycar of something would have a switch that would do the job

I'm pretty sure the brake switch on a TJ was only ~$30. I can't imagine the TL would be different enought to warrant a new switch.

That's right - TJ brake switch is $30 or so.

Wow, not at our dealer.... Dunno why tho. I fixed it now anyway so I don't really need one now. i pulled it apart again and cleaned the contacts. It seems to work really well now tho if it happens again, I probably will go to a wrecker. Thank you all for your responces.
