Hey guys, just after a ball park figure on what a cheap set of front brake pads are worth from the usual outlets, also if someone could give me any tips on changing them that would be great.
Cheers.

About $35-$45 usually.
You'll need a big G clamp or a piston tool from super cheap

I would bleed the brakes too if if it hasnt been done in a while. While your at it mightaswell bleed the clutch aswell, another hour of work but won't have to do it for another 40K

Mate you're looking for a 1203 pad, should stock them in all 3 of our lines at supercheap, calibre, ferodo & bendix. personally wouldnt go with the calibre as they will not last you. Ferodo's should be 42.99 and bendixes 69.99 but check with your local supercheap as pricing may change with catalogues, managers specials etc.

Cheers guys, got the pads, now I have done this before years ago with a mate, just wondering if someone could give me a quick step by step, just to make sure I dont forget anything, I'm sure I will figure it out but I generally do things the longest possible way when I'm not 100% sure on how to do it.
Cheers.

hmmm, take brake fluid reservoir cap off, (car on stands wheels off etc) crack top and bottom botld holding brake caliper on. Only remove bottom bolt. slide caliper upwards (will pivot on top bolt) and remove old brake pads. Push piston back SLOWLY with the piston compressor. Insert new brake pads, slide caliper back down, insert bottom bolt, tighten both bolts up (RFT if you don't have a torque wrench) and repeat for other side, once done, if not bleeding brakes, replace fluid reservoir cap
if your going to bleed brakes the procedure is in the haynes manual, you'll need a 10mm pipe spanner, an empty bottle that's clear and some clear PVC pipe (Can get a brake bleed kit for about $15) and yeah you should notice a way better feel in the brakes with new fluid.

He said hes got twin piston calipers so they'd be 1223's...
ive got the same on mine.
Agreed, stay away from calibre, personally id steer clear from ferodo too, but then i only go with Bendix

Whats wrong with ferodo? Used all around the world and I've got them on the diamante, fantastic pads IMO for the money. They bite very hard even with a bit of heat in them, only downside is they do dust up. But nothing wrong with ferodo at all

More of a personal prejudice i guess lol.
Always been a fan of bendix, afaik ferodo's are a coarser compound and chew out the rotors more quickly.
Bendix are a softer compound, they wear out quicker but provide more braking power.. as ive been informed.
could very well be wrong, ive just always prefered bendix :)

I dont know what my car had before, but the Ferodo's are fine, the first time I used them after putting them in was in a very steep, fast and twisty mountain run and they did fine, didnt make any noises or anything, plenty good enough considering the bendix are another good $30 or so on top.
