Nah man I dont think anyone has ever done this ever.
If people are telling you it's going to be "difficult" you need to speak to new people.
Get pod filter + pod filter adaptor for magna = pod filter installation.
I would have a picture as I've had 3 different pod's installed on the TR when it was standard but wasn't really worth taking pictures of.
So in conclusion! Get a pod filter adaptor made for the magna. BEFORE you buy it test it out as some do not fit.

I only ever remember seeing one magna with a WORKING pod....
I'd just BMC or K/N filter it.

All 2nd gens and 3rd gens use air flow meter and they all require the adapter to fit a generic pod filter unless you get the specifically made K&N ones.

WTF I was telling you about when the car was standard, so what I had to say was relevant.
How is it a "3rd gen" motor, I dont remember seeing any DOHC 3rd gens :s

You should have an airflow meter somewere in the line, be it air box, mad or tb sensor. It tells your computer how much fuel to pump.

instead, just get a higher flowing panel filter, its more legal anyways

Panda, your TR DOES have an Airflow Meter... there isnt a factory EFI 2nd gen without one.
Your AFM is directly after the Airbox and has a electrical connection plugged into the side of it. Without it your Car wont run... been there, done that.
I would strongly recomend buying a K&N Panel filter for your TR. I tried a POD and had an epic flatspot til about 3000rpm.
I changed back to the Panel and problem solved.
From there i made my own mods to suit but i would steer clear from a POD unless you're setting up an airbox and getting a Performance tune to make it work properly.
btw Tuffy has a 3.5L Twin cam engine from a Debonair, hes got a thread about it that is bigger than his rear wing :P have a read :)

As I mentioned already in my previousl post.

As i stated previously, 2nd Gens are the WORST car to get a POD working for them, I've only ever seen ONE that got a Pod Filter working properly.
I tried this on my 2G and found out the hard way.
K&N or BMC Filter will do the best thing for the Panda.

I had no problem getting the K&N pod fitted and working in my old KS. Just setting things straight here. Normal round pods create turbulent air which wreaks havoc on the air flow meter. K&N pods are ok. Some say round pods with proper adapter will fix the air flow problem but as you stated, only one person got it to work on a 2nd gen.

"Properly"
Edit: And what I had seen, I watched alot of 2G's back then. Obviously I didn't keep track of everything out there. So the chances of getting them to work are uber low.
I am only stating that an aftermarket filter is a better option.

Ran 3 different round pods All worked fine for me as stated before :)

I had two different pods on my TR with two different adaptors, both worked fine, didn't run any worse than usual. Lost a bucketload of torque though. High flow panel filter is the way to go.
