I know on the Pov Pack models we dont get a groovy display, just a boring clock.

I was wondering if anyone has mounted a GPS in there.

I have got hold of the Upper Console dash Bump that accomodates your multifunction display, and might attempt a Nuvi 265w GPS mount inside there, seeing as they have an auto on feature.
There is plenty of room behind it, so I'll see how it goes, just a trial first, to see if the GPS works under the plastic, here's hoping..

Do you mean you have the VRX/SX/GT one? I think it might be a bit small to fit the GPS? Why don't you order the top bit from the US for the Ralliart Galant, pleanty of room to put a decent GPS setup in then.

Just did a temp set up. And yes I got a VRX/SX/GT one.
Pulled the old one off. Removed clock with the two screws either side. Placed a flat bar inbetween those screws. Mounted the GPS to it. Ran the power down behind, and placed the new console cover back on.

Just running Temp set up ATM, to see if the GPS works through the plastic, and the voice is loud enough. All good so far....

I just need the GT dash Mat now.

Awesome looking good, I guess I was thinking the size of the multi display when I said too small.

Which car you in tomorrow?? Wouldn't mind having a look as I'm thinking I might buy a 1450T.

I would like to build it in a little more, but I would need a 3.5 mm audio out and get the audio to the H/U.
But, Meh, this 265w was 148.00 at Hardly normals.
Th emissus is laid up with an eye infection and its up in the air wether I can come tomorrow, but I am thinking about the 380.

It would be nice to set it right back & like you said get the audio into your sound system & maybe put a connection somewhere so you can do map updates etc, saves pulling the dash apart.

If you still are a starter for tomorrow, it would be good to have a few 380's in the line up ;)

The factory gps system (AVN6000) has the gps antenna mounted directl on the bracket the clock bolts on,

it is underneath the plastic shroud, and it works perfectly.

New SS?

As in V8 Crummydore?

Or as in sound system?

(Sorry to be a Croweater butting in on this Qld party, but as you know I have a pov pack and I never thought of slotting in a portable Sat Nav in that spot, so I might give it a go as well. Have two unused Sat Navs lying around)

KJ.

Depending on the Satnav itself, you can play around a bit, but its pretty easy.
I removed the Stereo/Aircon fascia only to pass the power lead up, as I could get my hand a fair way down from the top. But most of the work is done just by removing the top shroud only. Its a bit tough, but it just pulls forward. No need to remove anything else.
But the GT console top/shroud/ thingy is the key, large opening and it shades the screen beautifully.

P.S. Crow Eaters welcome.
