i was driving home tonight when i stopped at a meet up point with friends. When i started the car afterwards the lights on the centre console (air con section) weren't on and the clock was blank and on the dash where the km's are shown there was a number 5 flashing but nothing else. All other stuff on the car works except it wont lock with the button now aswell. Does anyone know what the problem is or could help me please. (the magna is a 03 tl)

I'd have to say it's one of these little fuses in here (yellow Surround thats popped)

As for the number 5, its the ECU thats has lost power, its actually S or W ( sedan or Wagon) this denotes the fuel tank size for km remaining per tank, and I cant remember the next setting, I think it 3.0l or 3.5l engine size. Practice setting this bugger before you replace the fuse, don't worry it will reset to "5" each time you turn it off, till you replace the fuse.

Just did a bit more of a search for you, that yellow surround can (though I've never got it to) lift up to replace the fuse, but if it is not properly pushed down, it can make a working fuse appear not to be.

shoots right on it... i blew the 10a when i installed my headunit and the same thing happened. Not 2 hard 2 do but if u dont have the tool 2 get ur fuses out its a pain in the ass

also my car won't lock with the button aswell.

You might need to reassign the remote to your ECU/BEM.

To reassign the remotes,
Starting with the key in off position.
Turn from Acc. to On Three times,
This should be confirmed by a flash of the hazards.
Press the green key on the remote, with 3 seconds.
Confirmation will be another flash. Extras remotes can be added after each hazards flash.

This is after the fuse has been replaced? Can you lock with the key?

Thanks guys. I decided to change all my fuses because they looked old so i changed all fuses and now the car is perfect. Thanks for you help shoot and for the picture.
