I've been getting water in my passenger foot well and i just wanted to know what you guys suggest to remedy this problem. I'm gonna try putting silicon around where my amp power cable was fitted. any suggestion would be much appreciated.
btw, car is an 02 tj2 awd (black and lowered, looks sweet)
thanks.

does it only happen when its raining?
its likeley that there is rust betweens the firewall and the dash there somewhere thats is letting water through. mine does the same thing but i haven had time to pull it apart and look yet.
i also resealed the plastic cover unerneath the wiper cover on the passenger side, and this slowed it down alot.

and only use ph neutral silicon, or sikaflex, because any other silicone is acidic and will make your car rust.

You sure its water on the passenger floor? (Sure its not the heater core leaking?)

:stoopid: Most likely to be heater core issues. Do a search. There's plenty of posts on it.

The black cover at the base of the windscreen wipers isn't meant to be waterproof, its just a leaf guard. Water enters from the windscreen when it rains and exits from behind the front guards, at the rear of the guards, you should be able to see water running when you put a hose on the front screen and open a front door. If its totally blocked with leaves, or you have rust holes there (unlikely) that's not where the water is going in. Pull the wipers and black guard off and have a look, hose it out if it has dirt or leaves in it. Use a torch to check for rust. I had the front screen replaced in my TS and that whole area was rust free after 15 years.

Someone else had this problem, it turned out that the heater hose was leaking at the firewall and coolant was entering from there. Quick check and tighten of the clamps should solve this possibility.

Seal your amp cable hole and if that doesn't fix it look at the heater core.

Another water ingress route is from the large flattened area at the bottom of the rubber weatherstrip just above the top hinge.

Only way to find to is to pull the carpet back at the base of the A pillar and see if water appears on the top of the siderail before dropping down onto the floor.

this will be your issue. Have had it on both cars, cut the grommit, feed the wire through and silicone that mofo up!

very unlikely to be rust, if it is will be the first one I have seen to date

Check your grommit first, I assume it is clean water and not coolant.....

ALso, some Magna's had rubbish windscreen sealing, my TF had this issue and was not ever fixed when it was under warranty, water then runds down the inside of the "A" pillar onto the floor.

thanks or the feed back guys, I'm pretty certain its just water, I'll check the wiper cover just to make sure. I siliconed up the grommit, now i just need to wait for it to rain...

Just use a bucket of water

Stick your finger in and taste it.
Apparently anti-freeze is sweet and that will identify a leaky heater core / pipe.
