So I'm not really fussed if I fix this issue as the engine only has to last me another 5 weeks BUT
The other saturday I drove through an IMMENSE puddle and killed my engine anyhow, I hung it out to dry and drove it home. 2 days later... 1 of my tappets are on strike....
1) Do you think its stuffed as its been like this now for around 3 days
2) would a bottle of lifter free help or would it just be easier to get it fixed?
3) is it worth just servicing the engine with fresh oil and filter?
thanks in advance

You hydrolocked your engine, thats how Amin (HRD2GT) through a rod... Downside of having a CAI with a pod in the bumper.

I have no power loss or anything car runs fine... just on idle you can hear it slightly missing and when you start the car up you can hear the tickatickatickaticka.....

new oil and drive slow for 5 weeks sounds like a plan.

bahaha yeah pretty much, like, I would like to get it fixed before I pull the engine out because then I have a perfectly good 3.0L for sale. Its a bit of a freak engine too, has no issues keeping and beating the 3.5 boys :D

Ooopsy.. gogo CAI.. I'd say go with an oil change just in case. Wouldn't have though it'd last long in the engine but still..

Well I know that water will burn out of the oil any how, ive seen it plenty of times when I was setting up my Copper Head Gasket on my TR, bit of water then about 2 days later oil is fine again....
Just yeah I dont want the valve ceazing up or something due to ignorance, which is ironic seeing as I drove through a massive puddle... but I swear i didnt see it

I've got the RPW set up now too.
Any way to prevent this from happening?
How huge a puddle we talking? Pass the middle of the rim so it's actually submerged your pod, or was it a splash.

Well I would say it was around.... a good 1/3 up the wheel deep which took up the whole lane but what you gotta remember is I have my magna slammed to the ground its only something like 60mm off the ground so pretty much my front bar woulda sat in the water and possibly submerged my pod... :S

Ouch.
Not sure how low mine is, but it's sitting on Lovell's Superlows.
You reckon a splash guard or some kind of prefilter over the fog hole woulda saved you?

Well I spoke to Lathiat last night and said there were POD socks? so it might be worth chucking one of them on...
