is this the correct time between refreshes of instantaneous data? other cars i've had with trip computers seem to be about 1 second.

Nah, that would be a programming issue built into the ECU (I'm guessing) that can't be changed easily.

Agreed. I leave mine on AVERAGE fuel consumption.

The Trip Comp is totally independant to the ECU, only gets a pulse from #2 injector and power from ECU to tell it the engine is running, everything else is done on its own.

What are the values the aussie ones show, the one in my 30M (jap) shows km/l, kms to empty, time since key on, one other, maybe average speed? the words above to describe are japanese lol hoping to get an idea.

trip meter
average fuel consumption (in L/100km)
instant fuel consumption (in L/100km)
litres used
time the engine has been running / key on ign
rest reminder (which can be set to your own time / turned off completely)

i think thats all it says - its been a few weeks since i was in the car to see / check / remember!!!)

woke up at 2am and remembered another one:
(est) Range to go from the tank in KM.
