I have cleaned up and painted my $50 wildcats and am ready to fit. I noticed there was no plug for the EGR. Do people normally just put a blnk over the induction hole?
Cheers,

I guess so. Same with running no cats, you can get defected and a MASSIVE fine for evading an emissions system on a car where it is fitted.

that was my thought as well, strange that they are maufactured without then.
Do the pacmakers have them? as according to their site the EGR's are n/a for the Magnas, yet their instructions say to drill out the mounting point for the EGR.

This has been discussed before. Do a search I think in the for sale section. I think it is actually active at the moment.

They were most likely designed around the 3.0 as the 3.0 does not have an EGR.

You are best getting a fitting put on, most exhaust shops should have them

Kurt, Im in NZ so i can answer you legally. They gain power from my experience with my old 3.5l. it was much more responsive, pulled harder in the higher rev range, was better on fuel and sounded a shitload better. but its illegal for you so yeah.........................

I will, just intersting to note that the Genie site lists the model as #282 for the 3.0 l, and the #245 for the 3.5, and the later models as having a M30 EGR. Mine is the 245 with no EGR.
fitting is easy to get but just costs money.

You can. I assure you nothing bad will happen to your engine. Don't ask how I know :ninja:

The hurricanes wont clear the sub frame on the awd with the bung attached. Legally it needs to be in place and active. If you bung it, I think a commodore sump plug is the same thread. It's a very fine thread.

Removing the cat is good for upto 5% atw, and a good fine too.

The plug from a VT V6 will fit. From memory it's 24x1.5mm

First part of statement is why the 30M will soon be catless, and second part doesnt apply lol oh as stated before, i recycle to offset my emissions (think emissions trading scheme lol)

Without EGR the car will pollute more as combustion temps are higher. Oxides of Nitrogen mainly. A possible side effect of the higher temps is burnt exhaust valves and carbonising of engine oil, forming lots of sludge in the engine. If your engine was EGR equipped originally from the factory the engine may be more reliable if you keep the EGR active. But its your car, I personally would value reliability over any power gain. How much will 5% power increase help you at 60 KPH or 110 KPH cruising speeds? Keep the cat on, keep the EGR working, keep the car legal. OK? lol
