G'Day, I must say I am very impressed with the handling and performance of my recent purchase - one problem that I wish to fix is to repair the seat cushion on the drivers seat. The previous owner was a large boy...probably 120KG plus he was very tall and (like me) tended to drop himself into the seat.
The result is that the centre part of the cushion (squab?) seems very soft compared to the passenger side, and my butt seems to be supported mainly by the sides of the seat.
So I need to either remove the seat completely or tilt it back so as to remove the base for inspection/repair.
Question is do I simply disconnect battery, wait a while, then disconnect power seat and airbag connectors under seat and remove seat?....or are there other precautions needed.
Thanks.

To remove the seat you need to fully lift the seat and remove the 4 bolts holding the seat down (need to move seat back and forth to get to bolts)
Once they are removed reposition seat roughly center of rails, pull lever so top half of chair falls foward (easier to remove)
Disconnect the battery (both terminals) and wait 30mins
Tilt chair towards center of car and follow the yellow cable to the harness plug under the carpet, grab a small flat head screwdriver and pop out the plug

To reinstall seat do the opposite to above

Do not turn the car on while seat is removed as it'll throw up the SRS light and you'll need to go to mitsubishi to remove it

Hope this helps :)

Thanks for the prompt and comprehensive reply Mr_Roberto, I've been bitten by the airbag light in my old Commodore when I turned the radio on whilst I had the instrument console removed.....then a trip to Holdens to part with a wad of money to turn the light off.
Is there any chance that I may be able to remove the squab only after removing the 4 bolts to the floor and maybe completetilting seat - this way I can avoid interfering with airbag connectors.
And final question, does the seat squab bolt/clip off or do I need to remove hog rings/clips etc and remove seat fabric etc to access the springing ?.
Many thanks.

the base on the TH / TJ seats has four 14 mm bolts to secure the base / squab, so are easy to replace, but the TL / TW are different designs unlike what it has in the manual.
