Man you've been asking alot of questions today!
I believe you'll need the shifter itself, the ecu, dash and/or engine loom and the cluster...... the conversion willneed some work - so be prepared to put a good few hours in or pay some like Mal who is your best bet ashe usually has the parts (he's sold a few on here before) and knows how to do the conversion....... have you given though to a manual conversion instead?

I seriously have doubts that it involves that much.
I have been looking at doing this for a friend, from what we have determined, you will just need the shifter assembly + some mods to the existing loom, I don't believe that are ANY differences in the ecu, nor the cluster.
Loom changes yes, (can modify existing loom easily - especially if you don't mind not having LEDs to indicate gear).
Shifter assembly yes.
Everything else, no.

Well you'd need the cluster so you can see the gears you're currently in, unless you want to guess....... and therefore you'd need some sort of extra wiring or a different loom to power the cluster....I'm not sure on the ecu part - only reason I mentioned is that if you change transmission i.e. auto-> manual - you need to either change it or trick it.... maybe because the shifter is already auto you'd be alright.....you'd need a sports cluster off a model before a 02 TJ' as well.....

Very vague question buddy - Depends on many factors and where you're looking it at from.....mostly comes down to the driver as well as their future plans.......for someone who wants to get max. performance out of thier car and wants to be in more control then the cost (better part of 2k and no one will pay for back for that) is worth it to them.... hard to say a yes or no answer....worth it to some and not too others.....
Doing a manual conversion is purely about the driver, because most of the time it actually lowers value of the car and can reduce your market as its unlikely a family or older person would want a manual car over an auto...plus if a buyer finds out that you did the conversion then they may fear the quality of work and/or the quality of the gearbox ......
All depends there Brock - assess what you want from you car and you're needs from it......

You won't get your money back on a conversion if you choose to sell but looking around carsales/ebay the manual magnas generally with more km's go for more than the auto's.

As far as I can tell, the only loom changes that would be required is changing some of the pin outs from the ecu (or tcu? I forget) to other specific pins that are currently unpopulated.
So you would be changing the ecu pins normal autos use, to the ecu pins the tippy uses.
You can find all this in the magna workshop, look through config diagrams, and electrical wiring diagrams. It is pretty straight forward.

what about shift kits for my 4 speed ? is there any out there

Sorry but the ECU programme is different for Tippy vs Non Tippy, so either a map from a Tippy or an ECU will bre required
you can spend hours modding the harness, but why not just pull the old one out and change it over
The cluster will work but is not the correct cluster and should be changed to indicate your correct gear

^ Madmagna was selling a few kits a few months back.... I think he did sell them, but he always manages to get alot of parts and get new ones quite regularly, so he should have some/all oin the future - maybe he even has some currently....best to check by sending contacting him via sms (see Mitsu-fix section) or pm - but I think he gets alot of pm's and its hard to get through.....Madmagna will know how to the do conversion and can really help with it - the fella knows these cars like the back of his hand....
Otherwise you could go around to a few wreckers and some of the parts - i.e. shifter, loom, dash, maybe even ecu ..... there was a chrome shifter being sold on here not so long ago - that might have sold though.....

what dose a shift kit do? (make the car shift quicker up gears)
A shift kit will firm up the gear changes....it won't change gears quicker and it won't change the shift points...also sometimes shorten the life of the transmission as the oil pump has to pump to a higher pressure and the clutches clamp quicker. On a few transmissions (on GM vehicles esp) you can increase the line pressure to mimic a shift kit but again it usually hastens the bitter end.
From what I've seen over the years, a shift kit works best when it's installed the same time as a full reco of the transmission. My opinion only.

i looked at doing this in my old tj when the gearbox blew and the costs far out weighed the enjoyment i was going to get out of it. imho i dnt think its worth it but each to their own
