Hi Guys,

Im having issues in starting the tp after i have done the head gasket. Ive done a search and tried afew things but i cant seem to get it going.

The car has spark and fuel and its cranking just not firing, anyone have any ideas? if not ill just get it towed to my mechanic to fix.

could be a heap of things, did you check your timing?

dizzy in the right place?

when at TDC the brass bit of the
rotor of the dissy should
be facing to the top

these can be a pain to time, mark cyl 1 from the dizzy cap on the body of the dizzy remove the cap and turn to top dead centre check the rotor button against your mark if its out pull out the dizzy and adjust allowing for the gear as it will move as you tighten the dizzy again, once your satisfied crank with the dizzy loose and see if you can rotate it while cranking to get it to fire and run.

also on TDC u can put it so the rotar button is point to one and still be wrong, as in u can be 180 degrees out. (needs to be on the right stroke) if u cant get it going as above try having it lined up right at 1, then turning the crank 360 degrees and realigning the dizzy with 1.
