This is a qu for TL owners. I know I've read this somewhere before, but is it correct that TL and TJ inner door handles (ie. the lever mechanism) are not interchangeable? Is an additional piece req'd to make the TJ (and earlier 3rd gen) handles fit to a TL? If so, is this worth my time or too much mucking around?
I used the search but couldn't find the thread. Cheers D
Ahh, I remember attempting this in MitchellO's car. I believe you could attempt to make a small bracket to hold the wire and bolt it to the door (just to hold the wire in place).
Alternatively, you could swap the bit from the door handle over but its spot welded on, so you'll need to drill through and nut/bolt it...

Ok guys, I've just worked on this on jzt's TL AWD. There's a simpler solution! Just use a dremel and cut off the section of the TL bracket with that plastic latch. Then u sikaflex it to the chrome bracket, connect everything up and with the screw on top it will hold fine!
Tried, tested and dusted! Took me a while to figure out an easy way out...
jzt have the pictures will update this thread later with them.
hope this helps, this was for fitting the chrom handles and surrounds to the TL/W

Thanks for the replies, sounds like it's doable but not a quick job.
