disconnect coil lead
remove spark plug, insert compression tester
crank 5-6 times, check value.
add some oil to the cylinder, re test
repeat one by one for other cylinders.

you should get something like what
the repair manual says 1300 kpa for each cylinder
dont know psi conversion

Make sure the battery is fully charged and that you hold the throttle butterfly fully open whilst cranking the engine. Did a compression test on a repairable write off fuel contaminated TH Verada that I brought for my eldest son last year. The compression readings using the vehicles fitted battery (charged up according to the hydrometer) indicated engine damage. Swapped over to a new battery from the wife's car and the readings were all within workshop specs & all was good.

haha glad you caught that. i only ever did them at tafe. battery packs plugged into walls, old datto 1200 motors.
