I recently had my tj magna serviced for its 135k service.

I specifically asked for an 'auto transmission flush' with 'genuine mitsubishi fluid' (Got it in writing).

On my receipt its states 'TQM Auto Transmission Oil'.

Is this genuine oil?

I've read that it is imperative to use genuine oil - ATF SPIII?

If this is not the genuine oil, should i have it replaced?

Thanks.

Shanan.

TQM is a Castrol SP3 rated transmission oil. It's not the genuine Mitsubishi oil but is what most automatic transmission shops will use. It will be fine.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Just disapointed as it was serviced by a Mitsubishi dealer. I would take it to a cheaper mechanic or even a auto tranny specilist and not expect them to have Mitsu SPIII on hand, but not a mitsubishi dealer.

Sorry for Hijacking this thread, but is it worth it to use fully synthetic SPIII Compatible Oil, like say, Nulon?
