I'm still wanting to replace my GT wheels with some new mags.
I've trawled around the Tmarts, websites and catalogues but still cant decide.
Any 380 owners with some pics and details of their mags so I can compare?
Prices would be helpful too

(retreives standard reply to this question)
in my opinion:
1. need 19"minimum ideally 20"
2. need a design featuring more than 7/8 spokes unless you plan on upgrading brakes as well.
you know what mine look like already, but members ride thread link in sig

Chris,

I think you might like the ones I have.
RJR Vogue 19x8.5 36 offset.
As Stormie says, 19" at a minimum, multispoke design, dished rims.
Should suit your colour as well.
Going by memory about $160 each eight/nine months ago.

Yeah, nice wheels, but the price! And then there's the cost of the 20" or 22" rubber! We're not all rolling in it like you Matt.
Not to mention getting the guards rolled, which IIRC 'twas you that said no-one will touch 380 guards any more.

20" isnt really that expensive tyre wise,
think mine were only 300 a corner (either that or the rims were 300 and the tyres 350) but as the bigger size wheels become more popular they are only going to get cheaper.

Yeah highly recommend 20s! I went with 19s 'cos I didn't believe there'd be much difference, visually, between the 19 and 20 - plus tyre cost and fragile profile of 20s, etc. But now that 20s have flooded the market more than when I bought mine, I can see that they really fill out the guards much better than 19s, so you definately wouldn't go less than 19s.

Mine are XHP Krayzee. Apparently they are really hard to find now? Or so says Jax... But mine cost $1690 including tyres. They're 19x8 and picture is my DP

I wouldnt say that im rolling in it KJ, I wanted a particular look and I worked hard like everyone else does to get what I wanted. Also, I didnt say "no-one will touch 380 guards any more", I only stated no-one would roll mine as it was WAY to much to actually roll without splitting all the paint. It can be done if anyone wants to take that risk. I personally didnt want to, I thought that cutting my guards and applying paint to the raw metal would yield a more aesthetic result.

With 20"s (if done right) you shouldnt need to worry about rolling the guards. I can speak from experience that even with 22"s you dont need to roll your guards and that was even with Super Lows all round. Most wheels specialists should know what they can get away with in regards to offset etc. Most experienced specialists will only use guard rolling as a last resort.

You can buy the Verde Madonna's in either black or chrome in 20x8.5 including rubber for less than $2500...and it wasnt that long a go that you were paying that just for 17"s.

I stand corrected!

But AFAICT the only way you can fit 20s under the guards (at least the rears) with superlows is to go with low profile (no more than 35) and relatively narrow tyres, no more than 225 wide, and a stock 46 offset. That way they fit up inside the guards. No way would 245/40 19s with 36 offset fit under my rear guards, they scraped like mad and I had to swap them for 245/35s and I only have lows on the rear not superlows.

With my first set of 22"s I was running a 235/30/r22 (now im running 245/30 with an offset of 38 (im almost positive on that fact), but I also was running a mild camber on the rear. If I had lows on the rear, I could have got away with no camber.

Go with 20's 19's look way to small on the 380 mine are 20x8.5 with a 235/35 profile tire and have had no scrubbing issues ever and have it lowered on super lows (still sits too high tho IMO)

Yep, it seems the general consensus is that 20s are the way to go these days, but the offset is very important if you want to avoid the dreaded scrape.
So far I've gone from 16s (on when I bought it) to 17s (swapped from my trade in TE) to 18s to 19s, looks like I'm going to 20s when it comes time for new rubber in roughly six months' time. At this this rate I'll be running 32s by the time I sell the car! That'll take guard rolling to a whole new level!
