i was just wandering my sister needs new speakers for her car and i was thinking of getting some splits cause she only has front speakers do you need an amp to run splits cause she has a 4x35w headunit they have cheap splits on ebay boss audio brand i know there **** but would splits sound better than standard 2 or 3 way good brand 4" speakers

you dont need an amp to run splits. although itmight be good as 35w isn't exactly great (considering 35W is actually peak power, so around 15 WRMS).

but you might as well got for a 6" split, better bass.
and BOSS isn't exactly better than factory.

u dont have to run the splits off an amp, but they will sound a ***load better if you do! Even a boss amp would run them way better than that 35w head unit :)

but yeh, say something like JBL 4 inch 2 or 3-ways, will go hard running off an amp, but will just lack bass

if the 4inchers are going to go in the dash, i'd say go just a coaxial, doesn't really sound like much of a budget, but luckily most 4inches are pretty damn cheap, i'd reccomend JBL or even i've heard some decent things about US Audio's cheap speakers aswell as Jaycar, unless u had a bit more to spend, i'd go Focal, if they're 4's are anyway near the 5's im using they'd definately be the go, but an amp would be a neccesity

keep in mind that my sister only has 4" inch holes in the doors and shes had the same kenwood speakers duel cone for 6 years and they sounded ***en awsome 6 years ago cause they were hooked up to an amp i couldnt believe but yeah she doesnt want to go more than 60 buks im gonna go to jb hifi today to get some speakers that r on special a good brand as well
