I have recently bought an NA Pajero - it has hydraulic tappets, and is obviously ULP - so cannot be original. I thougt perhaps it might be from an early Magna. The engine number is 4G54 54Bxxxxx. Can anyone identify it?

the gen 1 and 2 magnas (TM-TN-TP-TR-TS) had the 4g54 2.6L Astron 2 (or the 3L V6 in the 2nd gen's, but this is a 1st gen section 2.6L 4cyls all the way). i dont know of what else u might be after.... if u had specific questions or were after specific info ask and we'll do our best.

well from what i remember i thought the early model pajero had the magna motor in it

im pretty sure the pajeros had the same head as in our magnas, but a few other things are different. it was 2.6L too...

kip,it is original that I know of.It is also used in L300 and mitsubishi forklifts!The magna engine is model on a jap engine.
