my solara bumper needs the white portion of it resprayed. is it something i can do myself in acrylic and have a decentish result? i have no car painting experience, although i have sprayed a few gas heaters (big upright things in lounge rooms) with my equipment in the last year and they have come out nice and even, without runs/etc.

i'm thinking and hoping, that since its a plain, solid colour, and white, that it should look ok against the rear panel.

something i dont have any experience in, is proper paint removal. or if it's even needed for my needs. i just want the rear bar to lok neat again. i dont even mind if i need to redo it in 12-24mths. i'm very time poor, so a quick job that needs redoing one day, is better for me, than one long job that will last forever.

lastly. how much would a general painting place charge, if i take the bumper to them?

thanks.

Lol you reckon?

Best quote I have gotten was $150 if it was 100% straight. Most places was $200-250

yeah $150 is about the lowest they'll go...

Keep in mind....they would barely be touching it....pretty much if paint is flaking or stone chips are present...they'll just get painted over.

New paint is good at showing up blemishes. You will see some that you didn't know were there. lol Pay the extra and get it sanded back and undercoated.

$150? geez wheres that?

Most places charge $100 just for the booth cycle. You can do it yourself just prep it right and it shouldn't give you a problem. I'm sure there's many websites telling you the steps.
