Hi guys,

Just wondering if there is a DIY guide for putting a pod filter on a TJ Magna... I have searched the forum but couldn't find anything. If not, could someone please make one (or if it's simple enough, just explain it)? That would be awesome.

Also, what is a rough price for an MAF sensor?

Cheers.

Unbolt airbox from MAF, bolt MAF adapter on, slide pod onto maf adapter, tighten clamp. Done.

If it want to make it *look* legal, hack up the stock airbox and put the pod inside. with the maf adapter hanging out back.

Sweet, I thought it was just that. Just seemed too easy...

Thanks :)

I recommend cutting the back of the airbox to fit the pod in.

Not only does it shield the heat to a degree but it also gets a bit of the cold air that comes in through the snorkel.

Also, looks stock if you pop the bonnet.

its pretty straight forward as stated above, i just fitted my on the weekend to my th, and i removed the whole box and left the pox mounted to a bracket free standing in the ngine bay, and to say well im not happy with it so am looking at modding the snorkel and box and putting back in and cutting the back out of the air box or maybe just get some perspex and making a enclosure.

I don't think you can be satisfied with an exposed pod lol

I've had an exposed pod and it just killed my fuel economy due to the fact of sapping low end torque, so I'd just put the foot down further to get the acceleration I wanted.

Having it exposed might sound a little better, but you might as well try and savour performance by cutting the stock airbox.

Even then, performance will suffer what with the gaping hole at the back of the airbox, but at least it's better than completely exposed.

Just remember to remove the intake resonators and plug them up with Welch Plugs etc, you'll see the biggest improvement in sound there when combined with a pod.

Besides, an airbox from the wreckers is like 10 bucks.

or... get an RPW CAI that actually improves performance, and have a stock intake in the boot for when it rains heavily like me :P

SilentAssassin are you planning on boxing that pod ? Although im new to Magnas i can tell that, that pod is sucking in far to much hot air, so i would recommend either modding the box or if you want simple cut a "L" shape of plastic and stick it to the left of the pod and underneath. You could probally gain abit that way.

I have the oval K+N Filter coming up for sale if anyone is interested, this is the proper one for the 3rd Gen Magna as seen in the pics above.
